The tour begins at the Kilohana Plantation, located just West of  Lihue off Hwy 50. The Kilohana home, built in 1935, was the Grove Farm plantation manager's estate.

As we approach the top of Kilohana Crater, the vegetation changes to a mixed forest of Albezia and eucalyptus trees, bamboo and Bermuda Cypress

The cane tunnel was built by McBryde Sugar in 1947 and 1948. It took many miles off the round trip from the fields to the mill and from the mill to the harbor. It is just under one half a mile long through the Haupu Ridge.

The old mill in Koloa has been shut down since 1996. The crops grown in the area now include coffee and seed corn.

Knudsen's Gap marks the boundary between Grove Farm and the adjoining lands to the southwest. Beyond lies A & B large holdings and the huge Robinson property.
